Descriptive Paragraph

Panicking voices of my classmates fills the common area as our shoes squeak on the freshly cleaned floor. We scramble into the gym like mice scurrying to scavenge crumbs.  The fans on the ceiling of the gym spin in their counterclockwise direction. They drown out the sound of my unprepared classmates. Me, I’m not like them. I studied. But this exam means passing the course or not so I guess it makes it a big deal. Mr. Grady starts to pick up the microphone and high pitched shriek vibrates off of it. I know that I have to take my seat. Slowly I scan the gym wall. Each class has their own row and the papers hanging have the class and teachers’ name. My eyes scan the gym for my row like a hawk does to its prey. I then spot my row and slowly I slink down the aisle towards a seat. I see my reflection in the freshly polished gym floor. I choose a desk but it is no good. It wobbles. When it moves it squeaks because it’s uneven. I stand up again avoiding my classmates, looking for a new desk. My pencils and erasers are clenched in one hand. I can feel the tip of my pencil digging into my palm as I nervously set my water bottle on my new desk. It sloshes back and forth from my shaking hand. I watch the water move around the inside of the bottle then slowly it settles as I release my pencils and eraser to freedom from my tight grasp and sit in my seat. I feel the coolness of the metal chair on my legs where my shorts don’t cover. I glance up and see all the teachers with smirks on their faces, and Mrs. Niedbala almost gave me a look of “you’re done, see you next year”. I quickly look away to the clock. The clock changes to 8:59 and I hear the shriek of the microphone again. This time it’s Mr. Robinson tightly griping it. He holds onto it stiffly as he reads out the rules and regulations we all know to well. His voice cracks and laughter erupts throughout the gym but stops as quickly as it started. He finishes his speech with “you may now begin” and the room goes entirely silent. I click my pink and black pencil and flip open my exam. It makes a whoosh sound as I flip it over and sends a cool breeze a little ways to the left of me. I set down my exam and am ready to pounce on the first question like a tiger does to its prey. My eye twitches from little sleep and over studying and I begin my exam.

The Unattainable Knowledge of a Physics 12 Student

Grade 12, the year which is the end but also the beginning. I often think about the stage, walking across it, how I don’t know what I want them to read aloud; applying for scholarships and schools but first there is one task which must be fulfilled firs and that is the dreaded Physics 12. I am fully aware that it is my choice to take this course because physics isn’t a requirement but being the overachiever I am I had to take the most difficult class in the school. Yes I have certainly gained knowledge but that depends on what would be considered knowledgeable or useful for that matter. I learned that the earths radius is 6.4x10³ and could calculate the how far away a satellite that is rotating around the earth but I don’t need to know that and more or less don’t really care. And yes if I were to throw a water balloon from the top of a building I would know that it was accelerating at 9.8m/s² and could calculate the velocity it would be going at when it hit the ground but when would I ever want to do that? I mean usually when I throw a water balloon at someone I runaway, I don’t care how fast it’s going just that it hit them. Of course there is torque, often confused with twerking which is Miley Cyrus’ favorite way of dancing but no it’s the rotation of an object. The misleading physics 11 lead me to believe that it would be different. I just hope that at least one of my fellow classmates can make use of this and becomes an engineer.

Four Characters

Aurora is a simple girl who not only shares a name with Sleeping Beauty but also the fact that she is always sleeping in her spare time. Being a busy person Aurora is always on the go. Between balancing schoolwork, horseback riding, and coaching gymnastics Aurora's life is often very hectic. Like Sheldon Cooper from the Big Bang Theory, she is a perfectionist in each and every one of her hobbies and always has a schedule planned out. Along with balancing a busy life load Aurora also has a love-hate relationship to keep going with her brothers like Jackson and Miley from Hannah Montana. Each caring about the other but not showing it, just to have an advantage. Although they fight continuously they still love and care for each other. Aurora often finds herself speaking her mind. Not thinking so much about what she says and just saying. Bugs Bunny is known for that and she relates to him in that sense. Aurora's personality varies over a wide range in characters thus defining leading to the diversity in each day of her life.
